It's hard to imagine that the show is finally coming to an end.  
Let me just say I am grateful to have been part of the community over these years. I hope to continue being with the fandom in some way long after the show has ended. MLP has given me lots inspiration and opportunities to share my creative output - all for which I am thankful. Friendship is Magic is truly a rare gem. I can't think of any other shows like it - from the countless pieces of fandom artwork, videos, content and conventions held throughout the years. I can still remember the day I found my first pony video on YouTube. The demand for conventions still amazes me too. Attending BronyCon in 2015 & 2016 were some of the best experiences. Watching and meeting people you've known online for years becomes a totally different experience in person. Celebrating those are even better.

Even though I didn't attend BronyCon this year, I secured one of the Spirit Badges (for remote attendance). I was glad they held a livestream of some of the events as well. I posted some of this on Twitter a while back, but here's some of the mystery merch I received as part of the badge purchase:

     

Following BronyCon's demise, I've been interested in checking out conventions elsewhere. Seeing the livestream and getting the badge/merch were get memorabilia, but it's not the same. Since EverFree Northwest is set for 2020, I might check it out (plus I've never been to Seattle) as I'm unsure how long conventions will continue to be held.

I'm curious to see what G5 brings...but I'm not getting hopes up yet. It will need some sort of miracle to pull off what Friendship is Magic has accomplished. The following months should be interesting, nonetheless.

Well, this is an overdue post I've been meaning to write for a while.  I lost sight of my own time by 'life stuff', but here it is...

For cartoons, I think Netflix hit it out of the park with this one - and some of the reviews have shown. I first watched the show back in November and was immediately intrigued with it. There's something charming about it. The writing is quite good and the color scheme alone has me staring at scenes just so I can get a feel for them. There's also good continuity within the storylines (also a plus). The show doesn't feel like a cliché either. It has it's own originality which I think separates it from other cartoons. It's endearing and it has something I can't put my finger on. It's subtle, yet it has me coming back to it for more and...I'm not sure what it is...maybe those English accents? . . . What is it!?  

It could only be for good reasons. In fact, the series has reminded how impressed I was after watching the first 2 seasons of MLP back in 2012 for first time. It was that same admiration that brought me into the fandom. Perhaps I can relate to Hilda on some level - and in some ways, similarly to MLP. Although the 2 shows aren't necessarily alike, they seem to have quality traits that make up a good show (at least for my tastes). 

It's funny, I haven't considered uploading any other kind of work, until recently.

On a side note, I think the 'simplistic pantone-esk' color scheme going for the series works quite well (which I believe was brought over from the comics). I also noticed that the lines and strokes have some sort of pencil texture to them, which is a nice touch. Would be nice to use for a stroke profile. 

I'm rooting for this series and will be looking forward to it's 2nd season next year!

**Since I can't get this video restored either (copyright reasons involving audio), I've resorted to Google Drive for this one.   This was my first project in the fandom, uploaded back in 2012. It was a little fad using Scatman John's song 'Scatman (ski-ba-bop-ba-dop-bop)' with several different ponies.

It's been down for several months already, so I suppose this entry will have to do. If YouTube ever does uplift the block, I may post some sort of update.

**So it seems the URL to my original BronyCon video from 2015 is no longer functioning....and I guess it's been down for a while. All you get from the URL is 'This video is unavailable'.  



This one is a mystery to me.... I can't get the link to play anymore or anywhere. No takedown notices, copyright notices, strikes or flags. I even went through all emails regarding the video...nothing. My account is in good standing! I can't figure out if it's being held back for some reason. It doesn't even show up in the video manager anymore, which makes me think it's gone for good... I'm wondering if it was removed it by mistake. I'm rather cautious about tampering with video settings and this is something I would have NOT wanted removed. It's also possible someone may have gained access to my channel briefly, but I find it unlikely for someone just to remove just a single video...

Hopefully YouTube reaches out at some point. I'd like to know if this was intentionally removed on their end so the reupload doesn't suffer the same fate.

This was a fairly random project. I never intended to use this style outside my own profile pic...but I guess that changed. 
I may do a couple more heads. Time will tell I suppose...
